Move for Change Workplace Challenge Prize Winners

08 November 2021

Congratulations to our challenge champions!

During the Move for Change Workplace Challenge, 5 local organisations competed against each other across six weeks to travel as actively and sustainably as possible.

Collectively participants completed 2,892 activities, covering 7,070 miles. This amounted to 1,508kgs of avoided CO2 emissions, which is equivalent to an average passenger car being driven for 3,790 miles.

There were various prizes on offer. Here are the winners...

Workplace Charity Prize

  • Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital topped the active and sustainable travel charts at the end of the challenge, having engaged the highest proportion of staff. They decided to donate their 50,000 BetterPoints (£50) prize to Brighton & Hove Food Partnership.

"The staff at Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital have loved getting involved in the Move for Change workplace challenge. Staff have been so enthusiastic about trying new ways of traveling to work. As a healthcare company we are really interested in how switching to active travel can have a positive effect on health and wellbeing. The reduction in CO2 is a real eye opener of how little changes can go a long way in reducing our carbon footprint. Everyone definitely feels a lot fitter after the past 6 weeks. Thank you to Brighton and Hove City Council for being so supportive in helping us set up our active travel plan. We look forward to the next challenge!" - Daniel Sutherland, Integrated Clinical Services Manager, Nuffield Health
